Apache County - Children & Family Alliance

A community action team dedicated to children and adults with special needs and their families.

The Children & Family Alliance is a non-profit community action team started in 1994 which is located in rural northeastern Arizona. The mission of this group is to improve acceptance and the quality of life for children and adults with special needs and their families. Led by parents working together in partnership with community members and professionals, the team takes action that will strengthen families and build inclusive communities.

WHO WE ARE:

  • Our team consists of members from Alpine, Eagar, Concho, Greer, Nutrioso, Springerville and St. Johns.
  • Our organization is led by parents and includes additional family members, representatives from education, social service, medical, public health, city government and other interested community members.

WHAT WE DO:

  • By bringing families and professionals together on a monthly, ongoing basis, we create a unique team that works together on projects that improve the quality of care, strengthen families, share resources and increase awareness in our communities.
  • The focus of the team’s work is to build on community strengths that already exist, connect people with each other, and create partnerships inside as well as outside the community.
  • Building a stronger power base to affect change at all levels for people with special needs.

OUR MISSION:

The mission of the Children & Family Alliance is to improve acceptance and the quality of life for children and adults with special needs and their families. The Children & Family Alliance is led by parents working together in partnership with community members and professionals.
